I have a deep, abiding affection for all things vintage and all things sparkly and when the two come together… well, that’s just pure joy to me! I found this set of vintage styled Christmas Cards at my local Tuesday Morning shop and while I think they are super adorable just as they are I couldn’t help but wonder if a bit of glitter might make them even sweeter. Turns out, it does!!!! Best of all this is a fun and easy Christmas craft project that you can do in no time at all. Here’s how I did it:
:: SUPPLIES ::
White Tinsel Glitter*
2 Glitter Trays
Tip: White glitter gives a snowy, glistening look. Silver or other colored glitter is too opaque and covers the images. Not the effect I was going for at all….
* For a more “interesting” look, I used both plain white glitter and white tinsel glitter (it is rectangular rather than round). It gives great depth to the card!
:: INSTRUCTIONS ::
Lightly spray card with spray mount adhesive. Lay the card sticky side up in one glitter tray and gently sprinkle the card with white glitter. Then move to next glitter tray to sprinkle with second glitter. By using two trays you will be able to pour the extra glitter back into each of their respective jars. It’s an extra step but worth it to keep all that pretty glitter ready for your next project!
Let card dry and enjoy!
It makes a cute tag for a gift too! I hope you will give this great Christmas craft a try! I’d love to see your projects if you do so please feel free to share them on my facebook page!
