Halloween is this weekend and most everywhere I look I’m seeing skeletons and such, and for me, that’s just too spooky. I’m a Hallmark channel kind of gal and I love the sweeter, romantic side of all holidays and Halloween is no exception. I believe that even Halloween can be soft and romantic with just an edge of mystery. Today, I’m sharing fun ideas for setting a sweet and slightly spooky Halloween tablescape.
This table is part of my Halloween porch party – you can see part one here and part two here. This porch has a wonderful rustic vibe and these shutters perfectly add to the mood while also giving us a bit of definition to the space.
A rusty, time-worn scale looks right at home on this table and makes an interesting focal point. A sparkly sticker adds whimsy to this forgotten kitchen tool. A gilded pumpkin is the perfect foil to the oxidized pedestal.
A petite trophy holds a sunset toned nosegay of roses.
Blossoms aren’t just for bouquets, edible blooms make unforgettable garnishes for your drinks too!
Crinkled strips of paper add visual interest (and tie in to some of the other book theme elements in the porch decor) and energy to the plate and a smaller gilded pumpkin ties into the centerpiece. This plate is easily lifted away when you serve the first course but makes the table interesting when you first sit down.
A simple piece of ribbon and a Halloween sticker make an impromptu napkin ring. This little butterfly landed on the chair and I couldn’t resist snapping the quick pic! How fortuitous!
Like what you see? Sharing is caring 🙂 Here is a pin-ready image below:
I hope you have been an inspired by an idea or two that you’ve seen. Thank you for joining me on the porch!
p.s. I’m sharing this over at Between Naps on the Porch!
