Home bars are all the rage right now. They’ve always been popular but thanks to shows like Mad Men they seem to experiencing a real revival. But what do you do when you want to have that bar look without loading up on expensive bottles of alcohol or you don’t even drink? Well, here are a few tips I have for creating a petite bar space without breaking the bank!
First, find a table that perfectly fits your space. I am madly in love with a gold-tone bar cart which is available at Target right now but not so much it’s price-tag. I’m not saying it’s over-priced, but it’s just not in my budget right now. Thankfully, while on a recent trip to a used furniture shop, I found this petite side table with a cute brass rail detail for $25. It needed to be painted, but you know me, that didn’t put me off one bit!
Shaken, or stirred?! Nothing says “bar” to me more than a pretty drink shaker. I found these two beauties at Home Goods on the clearance rack for $5 and $10 each. And all I could say was “why, thank you! I’ll take two!” Pair these with a couple pretty bottles of bubbly water and you are well on your way to an official looking bar in no time!
Cheers to a happy design that is simple to recreate on almost any budget!
