How to Make an Easy DIY Teacher Appreciation Gift

This week is teacher appreciation week, sometimes these things sneak up on us – or on me at least. I love my daughter's teacher and wanted to be sure to send her a little something special. We'll do another thank you gift at the end of the year, but I didn't want to let this week go by without acknowledging how awesome we think she is!

Bees are the mascot of my daughter's school (and they are also my personal mascot too – oh, how I love a bee!) so I thought it would be fun to make something with that theme in mind. SUPPLIES TO MAKE AN EASY DIY TEACHER APPRECIATION GIFT

• Cricut paper cutting machine or another SVG compatible cutting machine
• Black Card Stock
• Yellow Card Stock
• SVG File (get my free file at the bottom of this post!)
• 3-D Glue Dots
• Hole Punch
• Ribbon

HOW TO MAKE AN EASY DIY TEACHER APPRECIATION GIFT

Download + Cut

Download the Bee-themed Teacher Appreciation Gift file from my member's library. (Not a member yet? Join for FREE via the link at the bottom of this post.)

Upload it to the Cricut Design Space software. Size it to your desired size, I sized mine to 5.5″

Place your paper securely on the cutting mat and cut the Bee file out.

Prepare the Backing Card

Cut a piece of cardstock to your desired size for the backing card. I cut mine to 6″ square.

Put it all Together!

Place glue dots in 4 strategic spots (for balance) on the back of the Bee cut file. I like the 3-D glue dots to give dimension and extra interest to the card.

Center the Bee cut file (with glue dots) onto the backing card.

Punch holes in the top two corners. Run a piece of thin ribbon through the holes and tie a knot to keep the ribbon from slipping back through the holes.
