I know I’m not the only one feeling a mild (or maybe not so mild) sense of shock that Thanksgiving is next week! Where oh where did the Fall go? It has suddenly turned cold here and it feels much more like Christmas than Thanksgiving, so I have to force myself to remember which holiday we’re really celebrating next week. I am excited to be gathering with family that I don’t see regularly and of course those I do, to purposefully sit and savor the joy of togetherness. It truly is a gift.
If you are preparing to host loved ones this year than here are a few Thanksgiving essentials which thanks to Amazon prime you can have in time for your feast!
I love wooden boxes like these for creating centerpieces. They are versatile so you can dress them up or down and so on trend with the current farmhouse style, yet classic so you won’t tire of them anytime soon. You can fill them with your favorite greens and blooms and line a few of them down the length of a long table to make it look full and festive. These are great to have on hand, best of all they’re affordable!
These distressed candlesticks are so chippy, I love them! And how great would they look mixed in with those wooden boxes? Pretty great, I think! I also like the mix of colors. They add a sense of history and tradition to the table which is so appropriate for this holiday. They hold 3″ pillar candles like these.
If you aren’t familiar with this product, PLEASE let me be the first to introduce you! This is candle “Stick-Um” and it is so super-duper handy for helping keep your candles STRAIGHT. I like it for under pillar candles too but it is your best friend with taper candles which always seem to want to wobble and lean to one side… this will put a stop to that for you!
Toast the joy of the season with these glorious Napoleon Bee Tasting Glasses. No matter what you serve in these gorgeous goblets, it feels a little more special thanks to this timeless French design.
Mixing styles of glassware can be a great way to add interest to your setting. These gold plated tumblers feel modern and sophisticated and I am particular charmed with how the pattern feels like a beehive pattern, a perfect compliment to the bee wine glasses above!
Beautiful white dishes never go out of style, plus I love mixing and matching them to create tables with even more texture and interest. I recently spotted this scalloped embossed bone china and was smitten by the delicate, lace like border! Simply beautiful for every season – and priced very reasonably!
This gold-toned flatware by Vera Wang for Wedgwood adds warmth to the table without competing with your other elements. Normally I like something with a little more frill or detail but in this case, I like the streamlined design.
Can you tell I have an affinity for timeless patterns and designs? Take these Pure Linen Hemstitch napkins for example. They are about as classic as you can get. They won’t go out of style, and you can pair them with a rustic picnic or fine china and crystal. This particular napkin is a generous 20″ which I also like.
Is it just me or is this Spode Woodland Turkey Platter the official/un-official pattern of Thanksgiving? OK, maybe it is just me, but wow, do I love it! If a whole set of this pattern is not possible for you, then I highly recommend at least the platter – it’s a grand way to present all your hard work in the kitchen!
Thanksgiving is not just about the main meal at our house – I get really excited about the snacks throughout the day while we’re watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving parade and then holiday movies afterwards too! I think this turkey platter would make a stunning tray to present pre or post meal delights!
Want to add a little more Turkey to your table? Then check out these Turkey place cards from my friends at Caspari! So many wonderful Fall colors in one beautiful card!
Add a touch of whimsy and Farmhouse style to your table with individual salt & pepper cellars at each place setting. They make each setting feel just a bit extra special!
There is one thing that should be at the heart of every Thanksgiving table and that is an attitude of gratitude. But, it shouldn’t just end there. This heartfelt book The Thankful Heart inspires us to actively live out our thankfulness and shares how being deliberately grateful can take your life from ordinary to extraordinary!
I hope you’ve found some inspiration to make this Thanksgiving holiday your best Thanksgiving yet!
