Cherish Peace, An Inspiring Christmas Quote

Cherish Peace Quote, Inspiring Christmas Quote, The meaning of Christmas quote, Calvin Coolidge quote, Celebrating Everyday Life with Jennifer CarrollYou know I love a good quote… I'm always keeping my eye out for one to share with you each week. As we get into the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season, I find that quotes like the one I'm sharing today are especially soothing to my already wearied soul. Like a balm to comfort and remind me of what's really important when the items on my to-do list seem to be multiplying faster than the dust bunnies that are chasing each other around my living room.

Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas.

I try to live with peace and goodwill in my heart year-round but am always thankful for the holidays to help me get a refill. It seems that by the time December rolls around I'm in need of some good old-fashioned cheering that only this time of year seems to provide. No other season inspires wholesomeness more than Christmas, wouldn't you agree?
I'm excited and grateful that this Christmas my little one is old enough for us to begin establishing some of our own family traditions! From the “Elf on the Shelf” to Advent to making our own salt-dough ornaments (a fun project I'll be sharing with you soon, stay tuned!) and more, I'm delighting in introducing her to the joys of the season and hoping to be placing lasting memories into her heart. Quotes like the one above remind me to embrace each day this season and do something meaningful together because it will be over all too soon.
I hope that you too are embracing the season and soaking it all in so that we will be able to truly cherish the peace and goodwill that is all around us and carry it with us into the coming year.

  1. Beautiful quote. I believe some people get grumpy during this season because they see the change from family, peace and goodwill, love to greed. And then there are the people who are grumpy no matter what. Those people need lots of love and kindness. Your little angel is very lucky to have a mommy who will share in precious memories. I’m looking forward to my visit to your house tomorrow. Don’t get too stressed with all the friends coming over – we’re easy to entertain 🙂
