Hello, my name is Jennifer Carroll and I’m a Union Jack addict. It’s true. I’m completely head-over-heels in love with Great Britain. I love the books, the music, the television (You know you love Downton Abbey too!), the ROYALTY, the beautiful terrain …. I love it all! As I’m beginning to settle into my new home I’ve been enjoying finding the perfect niches for all my Union Jack treasures. Shown in the photo above is a darling Union Jack frame that I bought last year at Anthropologie. It is cuddled up to a Staffordshire Dog that my Aunt Anna gave me many years ago. One of my favorite gifts ever!

This pillow was a happy find on Amazon and best of all it actually is from Britain! I was pleasantly surprised to see it in the April 2012 issue of Country Living magazine too! It’s soft and cushy and I totally {heart} it.

I am mad for notebooks! I carry one with me everywhere I go. So when I saw these in the Charlottesville location (at Barracks Road) of Creme de la Creme I tossed these in my basket with a little squeal of glee! They also had this tin of ‘Keep Calm & Carry On’ pencils…. “yes, please!” I declared and bought them too. This shop has the most delightful collection of treats for the Anglophile and Francophile!!! I have my eye on a couple more items that I hope to add to my collection one of these days…

This is a wreath that was originally part of my Holiday 2011 collection but I loved it so much that I couldn’t part with it. It looks like the glitter from the crown got brushed up a bit in the move – I’ll add touching it up to my ever growing to-do list!

I was in my local Marshall’s recently looking for a hat for my daughter for Easter and thought I’d do a quick walk through of their home decor department. I turned a corner and saw this little beauty and lunged for it – thankfully there was no one around to see my wild abandon – or my happy dance at finding this little gem!

This vintage biscuit tin found its way to me via my friends at the Greenwood Country Store. I remember strolling the aisles of Fortnum & Mason in London – just pinching myself that I was in the Queen’s grocer. (While I’m sure her majesty has likely never stepped foot in the shop it was still a very thrilling experience for me!) Finding this tin brought back all those happy feelings! And it has touches of the robin’s egg blue which I’ve painted in a couple of room’s in my new home. I love that color!

Finally, here is a sweet Union Jack Glitter Crown card – again part of my Holiday 2011 collection. I found the flag image via the Graphics Fairy here. Thank you Karen for that awesome graphic! From there I embellished it with a glitter crown I made with my cricut machine and a lot of glitter. Here it’s resting against another treasure of mine, the book Tartan: Romancing the Plaid. Since this book is mostly based on plaids found in Great Britain and Scotland – to me – these two go together like jam & bread, tea & crumpets, fish & chips! Well…you get my point.

I didn’t photograph it but I even have a Union Jack decal on my laptop – another Amazon find! Do you have any fun British – flag or otherwise – decor items that you love? Tell me about them! I’d love to know!

I have to give a quick shout out to Katrina at Pugly Pixel for the photo frames I’ve used in this post. Another great template from her! Check it out here.
