It’s getting to be that time of the year when we all start thinking about costumes and of course Halloween treats! I’m a vintage gal through and through when it comes to Decorating for Halloween. I don’t go in for scary at all, I’m all about the sweet! And that’s my inspiration for this fun and festive Trick or Treat Buffet.
The pumpkin lantern and “Trick or Treat” sign were loaned to me by friend Melissa – thanks so much Melissa! Aren’t they perfect?! This pumpkin looks positively jolly!
Speaking of jack-o-lanterns this wrought iron jack-o-lantern tree was a thrift store find many years ago. I love how they look like little paper sacks, so cute! I’ve covered the base of the tree with a combination of craft paper crinkles, chocolate coins and some glittery orange balls I found at Michael’s Craft Store. It reminds me of fallen leaves mixed with buried treasure! 🙂
For a pop of color I created a sweet candy “flower” arrangement of whirly pops and crazy-curly straws. I especially like the energy created by the zig-zagging straws! The containers in this group are a mix of mercury glass bottles (a Marshall’s find!) and a vintage black glass bottle.
I stumbled upon these reproduction vintage pendants (above and below) at my local JoAnn Fabric store in the jewelry aisle.
I love the whimsy of the vintage scenes no scary faces here!
I found these papier-mâché style boxes at Michael’s craft store. They would be great painted or bedazzled in some way but for now I really liked the simplicity of the brown craft paper. There was enough color on the table already especially once I filled these little guys with candy corn and candy pumpkins! Candy corn is one of my most favorite things about this holiday. It’s just not Halloween without it!
These broomstick bags are from Martha Stewart – I just LOVE them. I know I never received such a cute treat bag when I was a kid!
Last but certainly not least is this glittery owl – I found him in the dollar bins at Target. Isn’t he adorable?
Will you be having a trick or treat display this Halloween? If so, I hope my display has given you an idea or two! Please leave a comment below letting me know if you have a favorite part.
I’m linking up with French Country Cottage!
