Sometimes I like my decor to be pretty and polished, but at other times I like it to have a rustic, farm house feel to it. We do live on a farm now after all! So today, I’m sharing with you a Potting Shed Inspired Fall Vignette. It’s still pretty but definitely not polished, and I think that makes me love it more! All good home decorating (in my opinion) needs to be liveable, otherwise it’s really just art – – pretty to look at but don’t touch it or you’ll ruin it. There’s definitely no danger of that over here! This charming fall scene is created with a mix of common garden elements, pots waiting for plants, galvanized tubs ready for use, even a few broken terracotta pots which I just can’t bring myself to toss because I love their color and texture! Let’s take a closer look…
The centerpiece of my scene is this enormous yellow mum. I found it at a local fruit stand and can you believe it was one of the smaller ones?! I’ve never seen such giant specimens before!
I’ve nestled an old concrete garden crown under the blooms and tucked a pair of petite stripey pumpkin/gourds with it.
A pair of pale green lanterns are standing nearby, I don’t need candles in these right now so instead, I’ve filled them with baby boo pumpkins and a hydrangea clipping which has that splendid array of fall colors.
I haven’t counted but I wouldn’t be surprised if we have 50 or more pumpkins at our house this year in various shapes and sizes… I’m definitely considering growing some next year!
Old architectural details like this reclaimed corbel, add texture and make it feel interesting to me.
This table is on my covered patio, which helps shelter some of the items from the weather. Do you have a garden spot that you like to fill with a few random bits and pieces of holiday decor?
I hope you enjoyed this little bit of fall eye candy, broken pots and all!
Thank you so much for reading along! Please “pin” if you would – it’s a blessing 🙂
