While it’s true that I don’t particularly have the greenest of green thumbs, I still have a love for beautiful gardens and am always trying to improve mine. I recently bought some geraniums for a photo shoot and after the shoot was over I wanted to take them out of their plain old plastic pots and put them into something pretty to enjoy in my back yard. So, my little one and I headed out to the home improvement store to see what we could find…
At my local Home Depot I found these French Limestone Finish Scalloped Rim Pots. I am so in love with the wavy scalloped edge on these!! (By the way, this is not a sponsored post.) The cream finish of these pots is beautiful on its own but being an Annie Sloan Chalk Paint addict, I couldn’t help but want to embellish it just a teeny-little-bit. So I got out my handy-dandy paint brush and a can of ASCP in Duck Egg. In less than five minutes I took a great pot and made it even better – at least in my opinion!
I thought about taping off the top of the pot to make sure I didn’t get paint in the wrong area but then decided that I would just wing it, which worked! I made sure to take my time around the edge and kept a pretty dry brush. You could distress these a bit by wiping the paint with a paper towel before it dries. I decided to leave mine as-is for now. I may come back and age mine a bit with some dark wax, we’ll see. For now, I’m really happy with them just as they are!
I hope you feel inspired to spruce up a few pots of your own.
