It’s hard to believe that the Old Lucketts Store’s Spring Market has already come and gone… The weather was pretty dreary but my best friend and I didn’t let that stop us from treasure hunting!! I love everything that I bought and only mildly regret not getting some dishes that I saw…
Upon our arrival at the market we made a bee-line to Miss Mustard Seeds booth – this is always our first stop at the show and boy am I glad we went there first! It was mobbed and I’m not kidding. I found this wicker bee skep shaped cloche and scooped it up immediately. As always, Marian had delightful displays and lots of vintage gorgeousness abounding from her gorgeously painted tables and cabinets. I couldn’t get any photos because it was that packed!
I love the tags on her items – they are designed by my friend reni of bliss & tell branding company! It looks like a mini chalkboard!
I found two more vintage cameras bringing my budding collection up to five! My daughter was so delighted when I brought these home, she immediately scooped them up and began “taking pictures” with them. It was so adorable to see her telling our cat to “say cheese” and watch her snapping away!
Since becoming a total shutter-bug myself, I love collecting these inexpensive cameras but the delight of watching my daughter be a photographer “like mommy” is a priceless bonus!
I am always on the lookout for cute letters to make monograms, embellish a collage or just place on a table or shelf and was so happy to find these old letter blocks from Vintage Rescue Squads booth! They have adorable items in their etsy shop and I’m sure they’ll be adding more soon! The gold letter was from another booth near Miss Mustard Seed – I can’t recall the name though which is a pity because it was one of my favorites!
While I dearly love everything I got that day I think my favorite find was this set of six antique dessert cups, and you know what, I almost missed them! My friend and I were in the Ekster Antiques tent – one of our favorites! – and I saw these mini cups in the back of the tent. At first glance I thought they were mini chalices or something and I jokingly pointed them out. My friend paused and picked one up and so I gave them a closer look. It took me no time at all to fall deeply in love with these tiny desert cups which are engraved with “Pâtisserie Royale”. This set of six was immediately taken to the register and I am really looking forward to styling a lovely tablescape with them!!!!
I did take a few photos of the market and will be sharing them in the July/August issue of my magazine which is coming along beautifully by the way! Stay tuned for more details about the release of that issue!
In fact, I’d better go get to work on more layouts right now. I’ll see you tomorrow with another “Blog I Love” column.
