I am always on the lookout for great life inspiring quotes like this one from Oscar Wilde: “Mere colour… can speak to the soul in a thousand different ways.” When I read it, it really resonated with my heart. Color does speak to my soul! When I see the autumn leaves ablaze with color on the mountains or a simple pumpkin and berry branch, like the one pictured here, something in my soul is stirred, nourished even. Does that happen to you?
When I took this pumpkin photo over the weekend for my Autumn mantel post, I really loved how it turned out – especially the vibrancy of the colors. It’s totally Fall! Then when I read this Oscar Wilde quote I knew it would be perfect! These rusty oranges and deep reds are very comforting colors to me. I’m not sure where the term “Homecoming” originated but for me the season of Fall is synonymous with that sense of returning to the comfort of home & hearth. So these colors are the epitome of safety and comfort. See, color really speaks to me 🙂
I hope you are able to savor this season of color and let it speak to your soul. Do you have a favorite color or scene that especially moves you? I’d love for you to share in the comments below – I really love to hear from you!
By the way, I have a new fanpage over on Facebook and would be so honored if you would pop over and “LIKE” me!
