On our trip we stayed in the quaint village of Bunratty and may I say what a perfect spot it was for us! We rented a small house which was great because we had a kitchen to cook in on those mornings and evenings when we didn’t want to go out. But the best part of the village we were in was the castle! Isn’t it lovely?!!
Above is the castle in the daytime which is lovely but I really loved it at night when it was lit up – it’s so majestic!
This is the view from the top of the castle. Totally worth the hike up the stairs – even though the stairs inside the castle are so narrow and steep they are practically vertigo inducing!
On the day that we arrived in Ireland it also happened to be my birthday – what a wonderful way to spend my birthday! Once in Bunratty we drove right over to the castle and when we got out we saw this rainbow in the sky! What a perfect “Welcome to Ireland” gift!! Here I am with my mom – such a memorable birthday!
Inside the Bunratty Folk Park there are lots and lots of beautiful alleys of trees. I really loved all the trees. So soothing.
In the Folk Park there is a 19th century village street. It includes a pub, post office, and of course shops. Best part? You can actually shop in them!
Here’s a close-up of one of the houses – isn’t it charming?!
My favorite spot in the park though was this garden attached to one of the homes. The garden in surrounded by a stone wall so you don’t quite know what you’ll find until you walk through it’s gate. But when you do, this grand view opens up before you. Isn’t it heavenly?! I have to say it was positively breathtaking to me!
I hope you’ve enjoyed these little mini tours of Ireland with me. Thanks for indulging me. 🙂
I am very excited about the tablescape that I’m sharing with you on Friday! I hope you’ll stop in for a visit. In the meantime, I’ll see you tomorrow with another favorite website to share.
