I’m continuing the Fall decorating fun with a simple tutorial for How to Make an Easy White & Gold Fall Table Display. This arrangement comes together easily. It is a great way to show off a mix of odds and ends pumpkins you might have on hand.
Because I seem to buy a couple of white and light colored pumpkins every year, I wanted a way to bring them all together. This craft did just that!
Supplies you need to Make an Easy White & Gold Fall Table Display:
- Random boxes/items for “fill” or pedestals
I used an oversized candle, two votive candle boxes, and some shopping bags for my “fill” and pedestals.
The pumpkins with the gold lettering “Welcome” and “Give Thanks” are from Walmart this season, all the others are older pumpkins I’ve been collecting over time.
Place a few of your fill/pedestal items in the basket. This will give your display height and interest. The oversized candle that I used as fill was wider at the top then the bottom, so I flipped it over to make it more stable.
Place the largest pumpkins in first. These are your anchors. You will fill in around them.
Add greenery around the perimeter of the tray.
You can also add extra bags for “fill” now that your big pumpkins are in place.
Add your medium sized pumpkins around your big ones.
Add remaining greens around your medium pumpkins. Finally tuck in a few tiny pumpkins for a bit of added interest.
Where I am placing this in my living room I have some blue & white decor around it. To tie this arrangement in with that, I wove a bit of blue & white ribbon in amongst the pumpkins.
I didn’t want to actually cut this ribbon so I left it on the roll and tucked the roll under the pumpkins!
I will add one other touch of fall on a table in here and that will be it.
As I mentioned, I like how this display gives me a way to show off a variety of pumpkins that I’ve collected over the years. Here is a new white pumpkin from Walmart that bears the message “Give Thanks.” It pairs nicely with a petite marble pumpkin I found at Home Goods a couple of years ago.
I really like the touch of blue & white that the ribbon brings to the scene. You can see the blue & white in the background around the fireplace as well as the cannisters flanking the tray. By adding a little of it to the arrangement it helps the entire scene to feel cohesive.
It definitely feels like fall, but it’s a light and bright version. Becaues my living room can be a bit dark, I like keeping the decor on the lighter side.
