How to Make a Scalloped Gift Wrap Tag

Gift wrap gift tag

My niece is crazy about horses and I found the cutest horse lunchbox for her the other day and just had to get it for her. She’s just started at a new school and I thought this would be a fun kick-off for a new school year in a new school!  So, I’ve wrapped it all up in a fun and festive wrapping paper from Target.  After wrapping this gift I realized I forgot to get a card… so, I decided to make one!

This wrapping paper is practically wafer thin which doesn’t make it a good candidate for a tag on it’s own – but when attached to a piece of card stock – it’s perfect!  I used a scalloped circle punch to cut out the card stock and then also used it on the gift wrap.  I was careful to center the punch over the gift wrap and punched with it upside down to make sure it didn’t shift.  I lined up the scalloped edge of both papers and attached them to together with double stick tape.

A simple hole-punch and a bit of ribbon are all that is needed to finish this gift! Now it’s all ready to go brighten her day!  I hope this fun little craft brightens your day too!

:) Super cute gift tag – I rarely remember cards so it’s become normal for me to just make the tag!
