Balancing toys and tidy decor can be a genuine challenge for many of us. I love for my daughter to play with her toys, especially after the giant clean-out I shared in the 7 Great Ways and Reasons to Throw Out Your Kid’s Toys post. But, when they aren’t being enjoyed by her I do not want them cluttering up the house. Are you the same way?
Then check out these fun and functional pieces that when everything is tucked inside, will return you to a place of serenity, at least for the few minutes that it all stays put!Farmhouse storage, Pretty practicality to add joy & beauty at home while still keeping toys tidy!Click To Tweet

How to Hide Toys in Your Living Room
First up is this farmhouse industrial style rolling cart. Fill this with a few baskets, and you are well on your way to corralling books, puzzles, stuffed animals, and more. I especially like that it’s on wheels so you could roll it in and out of a room as needed or put it up against the wall.
Plus, as is the case with all of these items, the design is timeless and long after your little one has outgrown the big toy phase, you’ll still be able to use this in their room or around your home!
I am completely smitten with the color of this Turquoise three-drawer chest. I want to get two of these for nightstands in my bedroom, but I think they would also be great end tables in a living room and would do such a good job of hiding small items like little baby dolls, small lego sets, paper dolls, and coloring supplies.
Personally, I don’t think you can ever have too many baskets like this set of 4 Seagrass baskets. They are ideal for storing and sorting in every room of your home! I especially like baskets in this type of shape that I can label and store on shelves (like that awesome rolling cart we just talked about!).
Storage ottomans were the first organizers I bought after I had my daughter! As the baby blankets and toys were beginning to pile up and I realized I would be buried in a sea of lovies and cute cuddlers, a pair of stylish storage ottomans came to my rescue.
You can place a tray on top and instantly turn one into an ultra-practical, and oh-so-pretty coffee table that won’t hurt your little ones as they are racing around your room.
Once used to sort farm tools and supplies, this Galvanized Steel Bin with separate cubbies is ready to sort and store all of those extra small items that need to be stored where you can see them or they’re in danger of being completely forgotten. You know, out of sight, out of mind.
This is especially perfect for a play table where kiddos can each have their own craft supplies right at hand.
This beadboard cabinet is designed to be a pantry – and I’m dreaming of putting one in my laundry room – but I think it would also make a terrific kid’s command center.
You can have this in any of your public spaces, and the inside could be brimming with a whole variety of toys and yet once closed up, no one would be any the wiser! I have a dedicated cabinet similar to this in the living room for my daughter, and she loves it.
This farmhouse buffet cabinet is narrow enough to fit in some small spaces, but it packs big style with the farmhouse classic “X” style barn doors.
It could be handy in a dining room, kitchen, or even tucked behind your sofa if it floats in your living room. Compact toy storage with fresh farmhouse style!
These Cape Cod Stacking Wicker Baskets are channeling so many fabulous styles that all work together! From French farmhouse to seaside cottage, these classics are a particularly beautiful way to manage and organize toys (and so many other items!).
I really never tire of pretty and practical baskets and these vibrant green ones have just shot straight to the top of my wish list for my kitchen (once I get it done!). I love the fresh color and think these would be lovely practically anywhere.
Plus I like the size, perfect for kids to tote around and be able to put away when they’re done playing with the goodies inside.
While clear tubs are great for long-term storage in an attic or shed, I prefer items like these to add joy and beauty to my home while still keeping us tidy!Farmhouse storage, Pretty practicality to add joy & beauty at home while still keeping toys tidy!Click To Tweet
I hope you’ve found a new item or two to help you clear the toy clutter in your home and regain some mental peace! I know all of this decluttering that we are doing has really been helping me feel calmer and less overwhelmed.
