Hello friend! I am sorry to have unexpectedly dropped out of your inbox last week but I needed a break. I have been working myself ’round the clock for way too long and I finally hit my breaking point and just had to full-stop in order to take an inventory and attempt to figure some things out around here. Has that ever happened to you? After taking a little more than a week I wish I could tell you that I had a bunch of answers but I don’t. The only answer I have right now is that I need to slow-down and honestly, I’m not sure what that means… I’ve worked at full-speed for so long now, I hardly know anything else. But, for my daughter’s sake and my own, I’m determined to find out.
I found out on Friday that I did not get the job with the magazine… it was the position of Creative Editor for Victoria magazine. I’m very sad about this not only because I have dearly loved this magazine for more than 20 years but also it seemed to be a perfect job for me and a true financial blessing. But alas, I guess it just wasn’t meant to be. I’m not entirely sure what God is trying to teach me through this process but I am choosing to believe that He has a good plan for my life and He will use this in a positive way also.
With my new “slow-down” plan, I’m not entirely sure how the blog will be affected other than to say that you will likely see some changes. This may mean that some weeks I post 3 times, sometimes 5 times, sometimes more, sometimes less. I’m also planning to publish the July/August issue of my magazine soon because it’s almost complete but I am not sure what I will do beyond that. The magazine is an expensive venture and at this point, I am not getting a financial return that justifies the time and expense of it… I will keep you posted on that front.
I am grateful for your support during this time… I have no idea how long this will be, I just know I need to find a new balance. The photo above is from this past weekend when my mom and I attended the Pink Ribbon Polo Classic. It was lovely to enjoy the beautiful horses and beautiful weather. I hope you had a wonderful weekend too.
I’ll see you soon but in the meantime, thank you for your prayers.
