If Valentine’s Day is sneaking up on you like it is me, then please allow me to share a delicious dessert that takes only 5 minutes to prepare. My easy White Chocolate and Pretzel Peppermint Bark recipe. Three simple ingredients and just a few minutes are all it takes to make a treat that is ideal gift for Valentine’s Day, Christmas, or anytime that you want something sweet, salty & delicious.
Three Simple Ingredients:
- One cup of white chocolate chips
- Handful of pretzel sticks
- 4 candy canes/peppermint sticks
Place the chocolate chips in a glass bowl and microwave for 45 seconds, stir and repeat until chips are smooth. Be careful not to overheat and scorch the chocolate, microwaving in 30-45 second increments can help you avoid this.
Put the candy canes into a ziplock bag and bash with a rolling pin to break into little bite-size pieces. Chop the pretzels into bite sized pieces too.
Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly spray with cooking spray. Spread melted chocolate chips onto prepared sheet. Sprinkle peppermint pieces and chopped pretzels onto melted chips and lightly press in to help them “set”. Place in refrigerator to harden. Break into pieces and enjoy or bag and give as gifts!
The mix of salty with sweet is what makes this snack unstoppable. Seriously, I can’t have just one piece, so I like to make small batches like the recipe here. Otherwise I probably would eat my weight in them!
I know that peppermint is typically reserved for the holidays but personally I enjoy the refreshing flavor of it year round. If you do too, then I hope you will give this easy recipe a try!
