Two ingredients and less than 10 minutes are all it takes to make these beautiful and gift-worthy Easy DIY Bee Soaps! I never knew this was so simple but now that I do, I think this has shot up to my number homemade gift idea!
It shocked me how easy this was, and with the aid of the numerous gorgeous silicone molds available on the market, the possibilities are truly endless!
I was first inspired by this idea from this post. I am absolutely mad for all things bumble bee, and I remember hearing this quote by Mary Kay Ash a very, very long time ago:
“Aerodynamically, the bumblebee shouldn’t be able to fly, but the bumblebee doesn’t know it so it goes on flying anyway.”
That struck me so powerfully because it is about overcoming obstacles, especially ones that seem real and insurmountable. I have faced many of those in my life, and I continue to bump up against them, and like the bumblebee, I go for it.
So, want to know how to make these easy soaps? Let me show you!

It comes in a giant block, you break or chop off however much you need and then you place it in a microwave-safe bowl.
If you want to add a scent do it right now. I added about 20 drops of Lavender essential oil – use more or less depending on the potency you desire. Stir to combine. If you want them to be plain, then you are done – begin pouring the milky mix into the silicone mold.
When I went to clean the bowl that I had melted the soap into the mix had hardened. I was about to wash it in the sink when I realized I could just peel that off and mold it into a ball with my hands, and while it’s not pretty, it’s still functional soap – waste not, want not! 🙂
