When planning my St. Patrick’s Day table this year, I really wanted a pop of green but I just didn’t have any in my fabric stash… what to do, what to do… then my eye fell upon a very different stash in my craft room, my paper stash! And my mind got to spinning. Dare I? Could I? Should I?… I did! Yep, I decorated a fancy table with paper, and I loved it. Plain paper would have worked fine, but I decided to dress this paper up a little bit by adding a decorative border.
When making your own paper runner, space out the paper how you would like it. I ran mine horizontally so that more of the color showed. This meant that I punched holes in the short side of the paper. I used a Martha Stewart Crafts Punch Around the Page, Scallop 3-Dot Punch Set (affiliate link).
The sweet edge detail makes it seem so much sweeter than plain paper.
I would highly recommend taping the “wrong side” of the paper – this would make the seams disappear (unlike what you see here).
I hope you feel inspired to give this a try!
