Hop along the bunny trail with me today as we make our own easy DIY Easter Cabbage Arrangements. I just love how extra details like the cabbage wrap elevates a pretty arrangement to something truly memorable. Because it is special and not as common, our guests are more likely to notice and enjoy the beauty of this arrangement. The fact that it is so simple to make, well, that’s just our little secret!
I found most everything needed at my grocery store. Hydrangeas, roses, herbs, Brussels sprouts, and of course, cabbage. I also used some twine, skewers, and a short vase.
Since brussels sprouts are tiny cabbages I wanted to incorporate them into the bouquet. To do this, simply skewer them onto the end of a kebab stick. Break the stick to your desired length if necessary to fit your vase height.
I find it easier to wrap the vase first, then compose your flower arrangement inside. Ready to begin? OK. Grab your vase and a few cabbage leaves. I find the outer leaves to be the best, most colorful leaves for this project. The leaves tend to get paler and smaller as you move in.
Place a leaf on the side of the jar at the height you desire. This will leave you with some leaf hanging down over the bottom. Trim this “hang-over” with kitchen shears. Repeat this process with more leaves until you have covered your jar. Tie with twine and you’re ready to fill.
Finally, I added a few more flowers, the Brussels sprouts, and herbs. And voila! We have created a beautiful and easy DIY Easter Cabbage Arrangement! It really is simple to make. No special tools, no special talent. Just grab a bundle of cabbage and a few of your favorite pastel blooms and you’re ready to create!
