Displaying Figurines :: A piece from the new Urban Farm House Collection at Target

Posted on April 2,2013 by Jennifer

Target Threshold Artichoke FigurineI have been so holed up working on the magazine over the last couple of weeks that {gasp!} I haven’t even been over to Target lately… Well, this past Saturday I had to go pick up the “Doc” gift for my daughter that I mentioned in yesterday’s post (she played with it all day today too, by the way!) so I had a chance to catch up on the latest ‘happs’ at Target.

One of the things that I love/hate about that store is that it is constantly evolving. I’ve learned that if I see something I love, especially if it is home decor related, I should grab it because it may not be there next time. This little Artichoke figurine is just such an item. I missed the “launch” of their new “Urban Farm House” collection and when I saw it on Saturday, there were several “holes” in the display shelves… (this must be a popular line!) Well, sitting there, and looking a bit lonely, was this adorable little artichoke figural and it was only $4.99. To me this was a d-e-a-l! I happily scooped him right up and headed off to the toy department.

When I got home I was trying to decide where to display him and for now, I’ve settled on displaying my new treasure in this glass pillar candle holder of mine (which was from the Martha Stewart for Kmart line, back in the day!). Suddenly my little, inexpensive figurine looks like something much fancier due to its new abode :-)

I love when something comes together like that!

Target Threshold Artichoke FigurineThere are some really cute pulleys that I saw online from that same collection… I think another store near me might have some of those left. Hopefully in the next day or two I can go check it out! Have you seen the new line? Do you have a favorite piece? I’d love to know!

Happy Celebrating!

How cute is that?!!! And only you would think to display it in such a fun way. I think we need to hang out together so I can sit at your feet oh queen of sweet vignettes and absorb a bit of your awesome creativity!

P.S. My Target is about 45 min. away. :-/ Haha…keeps my money in my pocket though. Back in the day I couldn’t walk away without dropping $75 every time I stepped foot in that store. Yikes!

Oh my – I fell in love with that little artichoke when I saw it here yesterday. I had just been to Target, and don’t remember having seen them there. Today, I was on a different side of town, and for convenience sake, stopped there to make a return. While there, I decided to look for the artichoke. They had ONE. Guess who went home with an artichoke today. YES! Thanks for the tip! I hadn’t seen these before checking out your blog yesterday!

[…] With the bee skep (which is sitting atop a white cake pedestal from World Market) are a grouping of succulents in mixed containers and two figurines from the new Urban Farmhouse Collection at Target. You can read more about the artichoke one here. […]
