Celebrating everyday life with Jennifer Carroll

Good morning! How was your 4th of July? My Dad made his famous, fall-off-the-bone ribs and we all hung out around the pool eating, swimming, and enjoying a rare opportunity to just relax and take in a moment of summertime bliss. We opted out of going to a live fireworks show – my little one still goes to bed early (a fact I love!) – so it was TV fireworks for me.

Today it’s ‘back to business’ and I am happy to introduce you to my lovely friend Lesli Devito – not only does she have a beautiful old Virginia Farm House that she blogs about at My Old Country House, she is also an amazingly talented artist as you can see from these photos of her work:

She specializes in custom pet portraits like these darlings {shown above}. I dream of having her do one of my beloved Mikayla one day…. who, even though she is gone, will always be with me.   

But Lesli doesn’t stop there! She also paints whimsical farm animals like these!

I am crazy about this yellow chair and lamp! I have a lamp I really, really want to paint after seeing this. It doesn’t hurt that it’s sitting on a stunning chest of drawers either!

I adore this pink cabinet in her living room and I guess I’m not the only one because…
