{Blogs I Love} Cozy Little House

Posted on November 1,2012 by Jennifer

Cozy Little House Blog logoI hope you had a safe and happy Halloween! Mine was… interesting. I ended up spending a couple of hours at the ER – turns out I have a mild concussion. My little one and I bonked our heads together – she’s totally fine, it didn’t phase her a bit – the hardest part of her head hit the softest part of mine (my temple). Ugh! Fortunately I made it back from the hospital in time for us to still hand out some treats to the zillions of trick-or-treaters we had (and no, I’m not kidding – there were hundreds of kids in our neighborhood!) But another bright spot of the day was emailing back and forth with Brenda of the wonderful blog Cozy Little House, a blog I’ve been looking forward to sharing with you!

Rolling Pins centerpiece from Cozy Little House

Several months ago I came across her site and was instantly smitten! Brenda’s blog is filled with so much love and hospitality I hardly know where to begin! She periodically shares the most darling tablescapes dressed in cottage style like this Red, White & Blue setting above – how delightful is this rolling pin centerpiece?

Dome Vignette from Cozy Little HouseI’m crazy for glass domes, or cloches, and loved this one filled with this darling vignette! What a great way to display a favorite collection!

She has a very popular link party titled Tweak It Tuesdays. Interested? It’s not too late to join this week’s party!

I think what I love most about Brenda though is her hospitality – she is the official Welcome Wagon Lady of the internet! You can check out her weekly column welcoming new bloggers to the world wide web – here’s a link to last week’s post. But even more generous is her giving heart for helping bloggers like me learn more about having a great blog. Check it out here: Cozy Inspiration. It’s filled with a wealth of information on topics like: Blogger Tips & Tutorials, The Business of Blogging, Growing Your Blog and so much more!

Brenda is also an avid gardener and regularly chronicles what’s blooming outside like these gorgeous yellow mums!

Fairy Garden from Cozy Little House blog

She also shares a sweet series of articles on Fairy Gardens – I can’t wait to make one of these with my little one next Spring!

There is so much more I could say about Brenda’s wonderful blog but my head is pounding so I’m going to sign off for now. I hope you will head over to her Cozy Little House blog and please tell her I said “hello”!

Happy Celebrating!

It is great of you to feature Brenda’s blog! I have been following it since I first started blogging. Her photography is fabulous and I love hearing about the bits and pieces of her life. And I’m glad I found your blog as well, you have a new follower! :)

I noticed in your profile that you do some work for Martha Stewart Weddings publication. My niece is a writer there. Small world!

Hope you are feeling much better today, Jennifer!

      > Hi Jane! Hooray!! I’m so happy that you like my blog and are a new follower! What an honor for me!!! I don’t actually work for Martha Stewart (oh how I wish I did!!) but I’ve had the privilege of having a wedding that I designed and planned be featured by them – what a thrill!! I do know a few staffers there though. How fun that your niece works there. I bet it is AMAZING! Thanks for joining me on my blogging journey of celebrating everyday life!!! Welcome!!!!!

I love Brenda, too, and have enjoyed her blog for several years. She’s a real sweetie, and I’m happy to see you love her, too.

I’m so sorry about your head. OUCH! Glad you had a lot of trick or treaters. We didn’t have as many this year, but the couple on the corner had a party which I think made it hard for people to meander down the street.

Hope you get to feeling better soon.

    XO,

    Sheila

P.S. I see the poster ahead of me mentioned you work for Martha Stewart. My husband’s distant cousin used to as well. Her name is Joy, and she’s from VA, a graduate of the RISD.

      > Hello Mrs. Magpie! Thank you so much for visiting! I’m so touched by all the visitors that have been stopping by and saying hello! What a thrill!!!

Sorry the party kept away your trick-or-treaters. We actually ran out of candy and had to turn our light off :-) I’ve never seen so many in my life!

How fun that your husband’s cousin worked for Martha Stewart. I don’t actually work there (although I wish I did!) I’ve just had the immense honor of having a wedding that I designed and planned for a client be featured by them. Being a HUGE Martha fan this was a pretty exciting achievement for me! :-)

Thanks again for visiting and I hope to see you again soon! xo, Jennifer

Jennifer, you and the commenters are so right about Brenda’s astounding willingness to help new bloggers. What a wonderful calling! And every photo of her house inspires me. I too need color in my life and cherished things around me and yet she arranges things in such an orderly way that leaves you feeling rested. It’s going to be fun next to explore your blog. Glad you’re feeling better and that your daughter is fine.

      > Hello Dewena! I agree – Brenda does have an amazing calling! I know it was a big deal for me to find Brenda and her terrific advice for building a good blog – the information on the internet is so scattered and finding reliable, caring and honest information – all centralized – has been a total Godsend for me! Thank you for visiting and exploring my blog. I hope you will find some fun and inspiration while you are here!! xo, Jennifer

      > Good Morning Carol! Thank you so much for visiting and taking a moment to say hello! I am positively bowled over by the warm well-wishes of folks coming from Brenda’s blog! While I’ve had my blog for a while, it’s only been this year that I’ve truly started to devote myself to it so I’m still getting the hang of all this and am so excited to see the growth it’s been having over these last few months and for the warm reception and sense of community that it’s gaining. And lots of that is due to folks like Brenda and yourself who take a moment to just pop-in and say “hello”! Thank you for being a blessing to me today!! xo, Jennifer
