Today we are heading north of the border to Canada to visit with Cynthia Weber the gifted designer and author of A Button Tufted Life. This photo above is her beautiful home dubbed ‘Hoop Top House’ because of the hoop top door that they designed the house around. Isn’t that a charming idea? Designing an entire house around a single piece? I love that! And isn’t this driveway gorgeous? It’s all cobblestone which Cynthia and her husband Kent laid themselves – phew! I’m exhausted just looking at it!
They planted four wisteria bushes in their yard a few years ago and this is the first year that they are enjoying the heavily scented blooms. I didn’t realize that wisteria takes time to establish itself before blooming – it’s worth it when it does though – what a show!
With the warmer weather she and her husband have been working in their yard and recently crafted this clever planting bed in an antique crib! I’ve seen cribs like this and wondered what could be done with them – I have to say planter never crossed my mind but it is adorable!! Click over to her post to see how they did it.
She is an interior designer so I know you will enjoy her home tour. Recently they added wainscoting to their family room – I think it is a wonderful update to an already lovely room. I especially like the sconces – such a fun surprise to see outdoor accents inside!
She also offers e-design services! Have a room that is troubling you? You can ‘virtually’ connect with Cynthia and she can help you make the most of your space. Sometimes, it’s just so nice to get a fresh perspective!
Her blog is so enchanting throughout all the seasons – how wonderful is this snow picnic that she shared earlier this year? They even made their own syrup from a maple tree they tapped on their property! So fun!!! By the way, do you love that gorgeous wooden tray in the photo above? Her husband Kent makes them and you can order them from her site here!!
Her home in the winter is a picture-perfect, postcard worthy spectacle! I love this shot with the trees heavy laden with snow and the sweet little bunker house! Adorable!!
Her site is a treasure trove of inspiration for folks like me who aspire to create a beautiful home. From the gorgeous inspiration photos and projects, to the unique Antiques, gorgeous wooden handicrafts and even original artwork by her uncle Peter Etril Snyder, there is something for everyone! I can’t begin to tell you how much I love the paintings!! The painting above is titled ‘Old Dam at Hawkesville’ one of my favorites, I love all the blues and greens!
I hope you will wander over to Cynthia’s blog and explore! I know you’ll love it!
