Most of us just want to fit in, right? Whether in high school, at church, at work, wherever we find ourselves we inevitably want to be part of the “in-crowd.” But you know what – “regular” folks are not the ones who inspire us! Look at the Olympic athletes – they are not regular. These are people who get up early, work hard buffering their bodies and minds. They probably don’t have tons and tons of friends because to achieve that level of greatness requires sacrifice. But from that sacrifice comes beauty and inspiration that is hard if not impossible to find by just being “regular”. You must go the extra distance. Even if it’s just in showing kindness, pausing to share an encouraging smile with someone when you might otherwise march on by. In big and small ways much of life is filled with possible moments of greatness. You just have to tap into them.
Do you find yourself longing to be “regular” or “popular”? If so, I encourage you to break free and be your own extraordinary self! There is only one you and YOU are fabulous just as you are!
