Hello dear friends! Thank you so much for your patience with me these last couple of weeks with the sporadic posts… getting the finishing touches on the magazine required almost every moment of my time but hopefully all will be forgiven when you see the magazine. Fingers crossed, I’m hoping to be able to share it with you tomorrow!! We’re working on a couple of technical details so hopefully all will go smoothly and you’ll be able to settle in and enjoy it very soon. In the meantime, I have put together a fun little vignette for wrapping up a gift for Spring! Keeping pretty ribbons and tags handy makes pulling together a pretty present a snap!
A humble strawberry basket makes a perfect vintage container for this wrapped candle gift. You could add some ribbon around the edge to dress it up but I love the patina of the basket so much that I kept it simple. A single sheet of tissue paper wraps the gift and is cinched with two strands of ribbon tied in a pretty bow. The thin pink ribbon is from Michaels while the lace ribbon is a favorite of mine from May Arts. A felt flower and a calico inspired tag with a strawberry embellishment are both from Martha Stewart Crafts available at Michaels Craft Store.
This tag comes in a set of eight, two each of four positively adorable designs perfect for Spring! Obviously I chose this one because it has the little strawberries which is a sweet nod to the strawberry basket. Here I’ve wrapped a candle, but it would be really cute to fill a basket like this with strawberry jam and a scone mix!
All of the tags have a cute patterned background and dimensional embellishment – like the butterfly on the tag seen here. I love pretty ribbons of all styles and sizes! This pretty pink and yellow stripe and pink organza box pleat ribbon are both from May Arts and the cream crochet cut-out ribbon is from Michael’s.
I came across these mini jam jars at World Market and couldn’t resist snagging a couple – they are adorable and perfect for tucking into a little picnic themed gift! A few more ribbons from Michael’s craft store (plus the lace ribbon from May Arts) are pretty when stacked simply. An old spool turned placecard holder (I got mine a while back at Rock Paper Scissors) is a perfect perch for this little butterfly clothespin – a set I also found at Michaels.
What do you think? Do you feel inspired to wrap a gift with a Spring theme? I hope so!!!
Please say a prayer that all goes well with the final details of the magazine launch – I hope to be back tomorrow with the big announcement and links!
See you soon!
