Ok, I know I was shocked when September suddenly appeared but I have to admit that I've been so busy with the Fall weddings that I'm stunned it's October already! It seems like it was July just a few days ago…. I love October though, it's one of my favorite months. The pumpkins, falling leaves and cooler temperatures are divine. Here in Virginia, we're enjoying crisp, cool autumn mornings although it's getting too warm for me in the afternoons (it was 85 yesterday!). To savor the essence of fall I baked some pumpkin muffins last night.
Then this morning I saw these decadent pumpkin whoopie pies on Rachel Ray's website and now I must try this recipe. It's looks pretty simple too. Click here to check it out.
To go with the pumpkin whoopie pies I am thinking about hot apple cider. Vendors all along the roadside are selling apples and cider right now. I hope to pick up a gallon on my way home! I tend to be a cider "purist" so I probably won't add much to mine but it did get me thinking about interesting recipes. I found some fun apple recipes on the hostess with the mostess blog. Enjoy!
